Allodia Mail & Calendar

Email and calendar you actually own. Connect your own server or any provider over open standards — your mail stays where you put it, and nothing routes through Allodia.

Allodia Mail & Calendar on macOS: accounts sidebar, unified inbox and reading pane
Nothing routes through usYour device syncs straight to your provider. We don't host your mail, and we never see it.
Open standards, no lock-inJMAP, IMAP, SMTP and CalDAV, plus Microsoft 365 and Gmail. Your own server works too.
Built in the EUEuropean software, GDPR by design, and a privacy policy that says what it means.

One app, five platforms — and a sixth on the way

macOSWindowsAndroidiPhoneiPadLinuxComing soon

macOS, Windows, Android, iPhone and iPad share one Rust core, so a feature behaves the same everywhere. The Linux client already runs mail, reading, composing and the calendar; it isn't released yet.

What it does

A complete mail and calendar app, not a stripped-down privacy demo

Everything you would expect from a modern client, on every platform, working offline first.

Mail

Every account in one inbox, ready before you open it

Message bodies download after every sync, so opening mail is instant and everything in your synced window reads with no network at all.

  • Multiple accounts in one unified inbox, with a folder sidebar per account
  • Conversations grouped into threads — the whole thread, including your own replies across folders
  • Search across every account at once, newest first, with from: and to: filters
  • Read, flag, archive, delete and spam, plus configurable swipe actions with undo

Calendar

The week at the zoom you want it

Day, three-day, work-week and week time grids, plus a month grid — pinch to zoom hours, days, or both at once. The shape you left it in is the shape you come back to.

  • Create, open, edit and delete events, with a calendar picker grouped by account
  • Read-only calendars are respected, so you are never offered an edit that cannot be saved
  • Per-calendar visibility and colours, week numbers, a now line and jump-to-today
  • All-day and multi-day events get their own banner, capped with a +N that expands

Composing

A real composer, in the window you were already in

New messages, replies, reply-all and forwards in a rich HTML editor — on desktop it replaces the reading pane instead of blacking out your mailbox.

  • Editable To, Cc and Bcc, with a From-account picker and an app-wide default
  • Attachments both ways — attach files, and open received ones in your usual app
  • The original quoted below your reply, so the thread reads in one place
  • Click another message mid-draft and it asks first; it never silently loses your text

On the move

The same app in your pocket

Android, iPhone and iPad run the same core as the desktop — same accounts, same calendar, same rules about your data.

  • Background delivery keeps mail arriving when the app isn't in front
  • New-mail notifications with sender and subject, raised locally on your device
  • Configurable swipe actions, with an undo toast
  • iPad gets the full three-column layout, with each window's state restored
Privacy by construction

Not a promise in a policy — a property of the architecture

There is no Allodia server between you and your mail. That isn't a setting you turn on; it is how the app is built.

Your device talks to your providerMail and calendar sync straight between the two. We don't host your mailbox, we can't read it, and nothing routes through us.
Credentials in the platform keystoreThe Keychain on Apple devices, Credential Manager on Windows, the Android Keystore on Android — never a plaintext file.
Trackers blocked, HTML sanitisedRemote images are blocked by default, incoming HTML is sanitised with scripts disabled, and links open in your system browser rather than inside the app.
Analytics opt-in, off by defaultOff until you say otherwise — and the payload is a closed set of labels by construction, so it structurally cannot carry your mail, your addresses or your searches.
A diagnostic log that is safe to send usRotating and size-capped, recording counts, ids and durations — never mail content, addresses or passwords.
Offline is the default, not a fallbackBodies download after every sync, so your synced mail reads on a plane — and a dropped connection reconnects itself without a restart.
Works with what you have

Your own server, or any provider, anywhere

Allodia Mail & Calendar is a client. It doesn't ask you to move your mailbox onto someone else's servers — it connects to where your mail already lives.

Set up with just your email addressThe app probes JMAP, autoconfig, the ISPDB, SRV records and MX at once and fills the form in for you. Your address never appears in a URL — only the domain — and an insecure result has to be approved by you before any password is sent.
JMAPRFC 8620/8621, with a password, an API token, or a sign-in discovered entirely from the standards
IMAPImplicit TLS or STARTTLS, with IDLE push where your server supports it
SMTPSending over implicit TLS or STARTTLS — never plaintext
CalDAVCalendars alongside your mail, with per-calendar visibility and colours
Microsoft 365Work and school accounts over Microsoft Graph, with a browser sign-in
Gmail · Google CalendarGmail and Google Calendar over their native APIs, in early access

Editions

The app is free. The editions above it are about running mail and calendar across an organisation — and, in time, putting AI to work on it without handing the data to anyone.

Pricing principleAdoption shouldn't cost you per seat

Per-user pricing punishes you for rolling something out properly. The team editions are priced per organisation with a generous headcount included, so adding the twelfth person is a decision about work, not about budget.

Where this actually stands: Personal is real and free today — download it from any store above. Team, Business and Enterprise are in development, the prices are indicative, and we are onboarding design partners now. Anything not shipped is marked Planned, here and in the table below.
